How to breakthrough to success
The three key components to creating sustainable changeWe’ve all had some area in our life that we said we are going to change. Whether it’s our relationship, our business, finances, career, health – we all have something that we want to take to the next level, but for one reason or another, we just never made it happen. We couldn’t do what was necessary to achieve our goals. Maybe we pulled back too soon, or didn’t follow through. Maybe we made an excuse or even sabotaged it before we had a chance to start. Whatever the reason, we couldn’t break through.
In this episode of the Tony Robbins Podcast, Tony delves into the three key components to creating a breakthrough: strategy, story and state. The way you approach a goal, your beliefs about your life and your mental game form the foundation for any success or failure. But by learning how to take control of these forces, you can take massive action and can create the quality of life that you’ve always wanted.

Start training nowHunger: the key to success
Tony shares with us in this podcast that the single most important key to success is hunger. You have to want to win. You have to want to succeed. You have to have the drive to do whatever it takes to make your dreams come true. This hunger is often the difference between a successful person and someone who gives up.
Take Oprah’s story, for example. Oprah had every reason to give up. But she never did. Instead, she became a global phenomenon and one of the most notable people in show business. Why? Her drive. Her hunger. Her unwillingness to settle for less than she knew she deserved. She could have believed those limiting beliefs that said she would never succeed, but she didn’t.
Less blame, more action
Tony’s own life story has similar aspects. Tony also grew up poor. He had every reason to give up. No one expected him to become the man that he is today. No one knew what a game changer he would be. But Tony knew. He knew what he possessed inside. He knew that he had what it took to achieve greatness and change the world. Having grown up with nothing, he also had that hunger necessary to succeed. While he could have given up, he knew in his heart that he couldn’t. He had no choice but to succeed.
Just like Oprah and Tony, you have to stop blaming your external forces. If you want to succeed in life, you have no option except to succeed. You may have been dealt a bad hand but it’s up to you to change your path. It’s up to you to cultivate positive emotions and say goodbye to whatever is holding you back. You are the writer of your own destiny. Take the steps you need to take to change your story. You have to raise your standards and make the only choice you can: success.

Start training nowResources or resourcefulness?
Many people look at rich people and think they must have been resourceful to get to where they are. But were they resourceful? Or did they just have access to resources? Tony dispels the myth that in order to make money, you have to come from money. Many of the most successful people you know probably didn’t come from money. Instead, they were resourceful. They took what few resources they did have available to them and turned them into the success you see today. Instead of limiting themselves, they created and focused on empowering beliefs.
As this podcast demonstrates, the only way to change your story is to take control of it.
